Keychange Charity is also involved in social action projects and currently runs two hostels for homeless young people, in Exeter and Reigate.
Since 1998 the Esther Community in Exeter has provided accommodation for homeless people. Our current funding is for 16 and 17 year olds who are experiencing homelessness. At Esther Community a safe and supportive environment is given by highly-trained and dedicated staff, as the first step on the journey towards finding permanent accommodation is taken by each young person. Working within a multi-agency framework, we ensure that the best and most suitable support is available to those who access the service we provide.
For many years Wayside Hostel in Reigate has fulfilled its purpose as a refuge for young homeless women on their way towards more independence. Wayside is a 19 bed hostel that continuously strives to be an all-inclusive community with staff, volunteers and residents from different backgrounds and beliefs. As with all other Keychange projects, the work at Wayside is underpinned by Christian values.
