Dear Sarah, Steve, and the whole team,
I just wanted to drop a line to say what a great event it was to come to the Barbeque at the Romans on 1st July … Not only was it great to see Mum … without all the PPE as we were outside, but I was extremely impressed with the quality, variety and quantity of home-prepared food. All of the staff were so welcoming and attentive … and from my observation and personal experience everyone had a great time. I know it can’t be easy to do these sorts of events, what with all the behind-the-scenes preparations and out-of-the-ordinary hassles, etc. So well done and thank you. It was also so nice to see current staff on a day off coming in with their children and ex-staff also. You really do get such a feeling of real care …
So, thanks again for a great day and for keeping my Mum happy and well cared for.
I would like to thank you and all the staff for the care you have shown Mum specifically through the Covid outbreak at Romans. It must have been very challenging to manage both staffing levels and quality of care to residents and I can only imagine the stress and anxiety for everyone. It’s good to know that you’re coming out the other side and please convey my gratitude to the staff at the Romans.
To All Staff at Romans,
Just a note to thank you all for looking after our Mother … We were especially pleased over her last few months when she grew more frail that she was not left in her room all day. We have seen photos of her enjoying lunch in the garden, with her cake on her 90th birthday and participating as best she could in a craft class.
To All the lovely staff,
Thank you so much for all the care and kindness you give to our Mum and all the other residents living there.We just want you to know that you’re our “heroes”!!
We really appreciate how stressful and difficult this time must be for you all and yet you still stay smiling and cheerful!

There are not enough words to say ‘thank you’ to you all for all you did for our Granny. She was stubborn through and through, even to the very end and you all gave her the best love, support and care we could have hoped for, especially in these tough times we’re going through. You became her family and that gave us such happiness when we couldn’t be there with her. Thank you all for your continual hard work and dedication.
“I hated leaving my own home but coming into this care home was not as bad as I had thought.
I cannot find any faults with the Romans care home.
Many years ago, I visited with my husband the local garden centre across the road from the Romans. When we noticed the care home I said to my husband that I would not mind going in there when the time comes.

Belated thanks to you all for the wonderful care you gave our Mother … We are very grateful for the kindness you showed her, helping her to keep her dignity … She especially loved the fact that Stephen would keep her updated with Brighton & Hove Albion results! … We will remember with warm affection the help you gave us in order to celebrate her 90th birthday – it was great.
