Dear Kirsty, and all the Wonderful Staff at Walmer House,
Ten months ago, my Mum … came to live and make her home at Walmer House. It was not an easy transition for her or us, as her family. During that time, she has had her ups and downs but your support of her and us has been a constant throughout …We want to thank you all for all the care, love and attention you have bestowed upon our precious Mum, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and Grandmother-in-law.
Dear Kirsty, Debbie and Mel,
Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts I received from Walmer House staff, very kind and thoughtful … We all had a good time, the staff worked very hard to ensure we didn’t miss out, Sylvia provided fantastic meals for us, bless her, and Sharon didn’t seem to stop! … Thank you all for making this a “home from home”.
A compliment was received at Walmer House from the food delivery driver this morning. The cook explained that the driver was talking to her and said that by the food that he is delivering here that the people living here are very well fed and that they are lucky to live here. – February 2023
To Kirsty, Melanie and any other “behind the scenes” people …
I think you would agree that this year has presented its challenges! But you have
risen above all the problems … to find the extra staff, and here we are ready to enjoy another festive season, my third, and I’m sure it will be another “winner”.
I just wanted to send a message to thank you and all of your staff for the wonderful care you gave Dad. He loved being with you and I had peace of mind that he was being cared for by lovely people. I can’t thank you enough for setting up the family room for us during the last few days that we had with Dad. With all that is happening at the moment it restored our faith in human kindness. I will never forget what you did for us. Please thank everyone for me.
We are forever grateful to you all for how you cared for Mum and how you are continuing to do so for your other residents. Since Mum moved into Walmer House you all became like a little extended family … We understand that it has been a challenging time for all Nursing and Residential Homes alike during this Covid-19 crisis … Thank goodness for carers all over the world! You are all doing a great job …
A big thank you to Immy … who has so kindly been the in-house hairdresser – we all know what a treat that is!
Really appreciate all your efforts to keep our loved ones’ spirits up – please pass on my thanks to everyone involved.

I was always backing M to remain in her own home for as long as possible and … I almost felt guilty for aiding her independence in order to delay the ‘evil’ day. How wrong was I? … I really do mean thanks to everyone who works to make it such a lovely home … It was so moving and impressive to realise that you don’t just care for her, you all seem to genuinely care about her. I felt so much better about her being in your care and really feel that she couldn’t be in a better place.

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication throughout an extremely difficult time. I’m not sure any of us can really comprehend what you have had to deal with. – Dec 2020
To All the Staff at Walmer House,
What can I say about you all? You are truly a wonderful bunch of people. My Mum was so happy to live at Walmer House. What started off as a 2 week respite turned into almost 4 years! The thing we most loved about Walmer House is the sense of being part of a family. Mum loved the conversations, the company, the laughter, her room, the food and the care. “Thank you” is hardly enough!
From the bottom of my heart I shout it – THANK YOU!
