Thank you all for the excellent care you gave M. It was a very difficult time in her life and for her to be so well looked after and to find friendship means so much to us. I cannot express my appreciation for going the extra mile with all the extras you had to do because I could not be there … Thank you all for just some of the things you have done that meant so much to me and I could never write about them all.
Sam: For being my first contact and being willing to take M at short notice during the first month of Covid.
Kirsty: For all the things you helped me organise like actually getting M there and the rest. Too many to even mention.
Phillip: My first contact on the day M arrived, your patience and kindness … and all the chats.
Natalie: Always ready to take my calls and for being honest with me about M’s situation.
Sian: Always helping me even when I asked questions you could not answer.
Wendy: For the long nights and the support and singing in German.
Monia: For being there and the kindness.
Sylvia and Amanda: I am a chef and M never complained about the food. She enjoyed it and always got extra dessert. She appreciated the choice. Then the special meals when she could not swallow properly and put on weight.
Simon: For moving all her things in and then out.
Leyla, Iris and Morgan: For all the cleaning and always being kind and respectful.
Athena, David, Imogen, John, Keelan, Amelia and Helen: I did not get to know you but I am sure you were all doing the care for the other residents.
Melanie and Liz: For all the difficulties with the admin.
I am sure you can all still hear her saying “Jaja” in the wonderful German accent.
With grateful thanks and all the best to you,
B and M
A big thank you to Immy … who has so kindly been the in-house hairdresser – we all know what a treat that is!
Really appreciate all your efforts to keep our loved ones’ spirits up – please pass on my thanks to everyone involved.
I was always backing M to remain in her own home for as long as possible and … I almost felt guilty for aiding her independence in order to delay the ‘evil’ day. How wrong was I? … I really do mean thanks to everyone who works to make it such a lovely home … It was so moving and impressive to realise that you don’t just care for her, you all seem to genuinely care about her. I felt so much better about her being in your care and really feel that she couldn’t be in a better place.

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication throughout an extremely difficult time. I’m not sure any of us can really comprehend what you have had to deal with. – Dec 2020
I just wanted to send a message to thank you and all of your staff for the wonderful care you gave Dad. He loved being with you and I had peace of mind that he was being cared for by lovely people. I can’t thank you enough for setting up the family room for us during the last few days that we had with Dad. With all that is happening at the moment it restored our faith in human kindness. I will never forget what you did for us. Please thank everyone for me.
Hi Sam, Kirsty, Liz and all the Care staff,
Having just shared in a Minute Silence to remember the NHS staff and Carers who have been lost to Covid-19; and also as part of the weekly ‘Clap for Carers’, I was also particularly thinking of all the wonderful care you continue to provide at Walmer House especially through these difficult times.
I just want to say a huge thank you to you all and to express how grateful and thankful we are for all you do and the care you provide for Mum and of course all the other residents at Walmer House.
Thanks so much, you are greatly appreciated!
To All the Staff at Walmer House,
What can I say about you all? You are truly a wonderful bunch of people. My Mum was so happy to live at Walmer House. What started off as a 2 week respite turned into almost 4 years! The thing we most loved about Walmer House is the sense of being part of a family. Mum loved the conversations, the company, the laughter, her room, the food and the care. “Thank you” is hardly enough!
From the bottom of my heart I shout it – THANK YOU!
