Erith House has an interesting history. In 1854 a Trust was established in Torquay as there was a need for a superior home where board and care could be provided to the community during the winter months. The grand building that was erected in 1860 specifically for this purpose was named Erith House, and among its first residents were two patients sent from London by Miss Florence Nightingale, the founder of nursing. We’re proud to continue serving the community today as part of Keychange, a Christian charity.
Creating caring communities is key to our identity, and we care because that’s what we feel called to do. Every penny we make goes back into providing excellent care that’s as affordable as possible.
The manager has gone to lengths to ensure care is individual and patients’ needs are fully understood. Very welcoming and the environment is always relaxing and smells amazing. The little details of how to improve a patient’s and relatives’ experience is very noticeable. – Daughter of resident, January 2024
