Why choose Fair Havens Care Community?
Fair Havens is a small residential care community, with a maximum capacity of just 23 residents. We create a feeling of true community, where each person feels known as a unique individual.
We offer:
- Convalescent Care
- Day Care
- Dementia care.
- End of Life Care
- Palliative Care
- Respite care
Fair Havens is situated in the thriving residential area of Bassett, Southampton, and was built in the second half of the 20th century. The home has been extended over the years to provide the extensive facilities it currently offers, including four lounges which provide a variety of spaces to socialise and relax. The garden is a particularly outstanding feature of the home, with its own summer house, sensory plant beds and beautiful rose bushes planted in memory of previous residents. Southampton Common is a five minute walk away from the home.

Proudly not for profit
Fair Havens was established by an interdenominational group of local Christians who wished to provide care for the elderly without expectation of faith or creed. The name they chose for the home is a reference to Acts 27:8 in the Bible: “We moved along the coast … and came to a place called Fair Havens”. We’re proud to continue serving the community today as part of Keychange, a Christian charity.
We care because that’s what we feel called to do. Creating caring communities is key to our identity, and every penny we make goes back into providing excellent care that’s as affordable as possible.
Since my mother-in-law entered care at Fairhaven the staff have been excellent. She has Alzheimer’s and although she showed some challenging behaviour in the initial days they have worked very hard to settle her. Nothing was too much trouble and the manager has been very patient with us as well. We looked at several places for her but the manager sold us on Fairhaven by virtue of her enthusiasm and caring nature. We knew we had made the right decision after just a few weeks. – Received January 2024
